The Right Media to Target the Mature Market
SPMG Launches Premier 100
Nov 12, 2007
SPMG has announced the launch of its Premier 100, a targeted group of fully audited, influential senior newspapers. Participating publications include newspapers from 40 states and 80 MSAs. The Premier 100 represents the leading publications targeting readers age 55+ in their respective markets.

SPMG, in conjunction with the CVC, is in the process of conducting a streamlined audit to be completed by the end of Q4. SPMG will also conduct a corresponding readership study providing an unprecedented look into mature readers’ interests, spending habits and lifestyle preferences. Topics covered in the study will include basic demographic information, annual planned purchases, pharmaceutical spending and preferences, and topics they are interested in learning more about.

“The audit will include 100 senior newspapers with a circulation of more than 4.4 million. Upon completion of the audit, SPMG will have access to the largest collection of data ever gathered on the mature demographic in the history of media,” said Tim Bingaman, president and CEO, CVC. “SPMG will now be able to provide media buyers a comprehensive overview of exactly what they are buying in advance.”

“We created the SPMG Premier 100 to increase awareness of the targeted, quality environment these publications provide to reach the affluent mature demographic,” said Trevor Hansen, CEO SPMG. “Through our audit and readership study we will be able obtain powerful data critical to print campaigns targeting the senior market.”

Senior newspapers are the most effective platform to target adults age 55+. The mature market turns to newspapers for news and information more than any other demographic. Mature newspapers specifically target this segment by addressing the issues and concerns that affect them most.
